A 10-second reading

Written on the wall of a small church in the Pyrenees: "Lord, may this candle I have just lit make light, and illuminate me when I have problems and make decisions. May it make fire, so that You can burn away my egotism, pride and impurity. May it make a flame, so that You can warm ny heart and teach me to love. I cannot remain for long in Your church. But in leaving this candle, a bit of myself remains here. Help me to extend my prayer to the activities of this day. Amen."

The Other

Man runs into an old friend who had somehow never been able to make it in life. "I should give him some money," he thinks. But instead he learns that his old friend has grown rich and is actually seeking him to repay the debts he had run up over the years.

They go to a bar they need to frequent together, and the friend buys drinks for everyone there. When they ask him how he became so successful, he answers that until only a few days ago, he had been living the role of the "Other".

"What is the Other?" they ask.

"The Other is the one who taught me what I should be like, but not what I am. The other believes that it is our obligation to spend our entire life thinking about how to get our hands on as much money as possible so that we will not die of hunger when we are old. So we think so much about money and our plans for acquiring it that we discover we are alive only when our days on earth are practically done. And then it's too late."

"And you? Who are you?"

"I am just like everyone else who listens to their heart: a person who is enchanted by the mystery of life. Who is open to miracles, who experiences joy and enthusiasm for what they do. It's just that the Other, afraid of disappointment, kept me from taking action."

"But there is suffering in life," one of the listeners said.

"And there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggle for your dreams than to be defeated without ever even knowing what you're fighting for."

"That's it?" another listener asked.

"Yes, that's it. When I learned this, I resolved to become the person I had always wanted to be. The Other stood there in the corner of my room, watching me, but I will never let the Other into myself again -- even though it has already tried to frighten me, warning me that it's risky not to think about the future."

"From the moment that I ousted the Other from my life, the Divine Energy began to perform its miracles."

Forever young

I'm 20.

I wish I could stay young forever. I mean I know this song was before me but until you listen to this song and start to cry, you haven't even begun to understand the meaning. Twenty has never been so great and all but I just wish I could go back to when my parents were still together.

Back in the days when my grandpa and I used to sit together in a table outside the veranda, exchanging worthwhile conversations and having coffee and not minding time. If I could pick an age it would be seven back when I was safe and felt loved.

A life of 19+1, and it has only begun. Thank you, Lord, for showing me how wonderful it is to be young. =)

Of Michael Jackson and Coldplay's Viva La Vida

Listening to this song in context with Michael Jackson's death,
it could describe his rise and fall as the King of Pop and his premature death.
Michael Jackson, as the King of Pop, surely ruled the world to the point where he could seemingly command the seas to rise.

He did replace a King "Elvis Presley", only to lose the crown later in life when scandals brought him down, with plenty of references in the song.
The chorus could be foretelling Michael Jackson's premature death, having expired before St. Peter, the gatekeeper of Heaven, could call his name.
This song can now be seen as an accurate description of Michael Jackson's last years.

HA? I don't think I'm making sense here.

Nuf said.
Bye.

Drinking to music

Definitions of drunk:
1) Having one's faculties impaired by alcohol
2) Being dominated by an intense feeling
3) A feeling of strong excitement or elation

One definition of music:
An agreeable sound which is capable of arousing the emotional and physical senses.

We can therefore determine that 'Drunk on Music' does not necessarily need an intake of alcoholic beverages to make us drunk. Music is intoxicating with or without alcohol, bridging the extremes of euphoria and sadness and capable of inducing tears or the desire to dance like a raving lunatic.

Untitled

Lying awake at night
I wipe the sweat from my brow
But it's not the fear 'cause
I'd rather go now
Trying to visualize the horrors
That will lie ahead
The desert sand mound
A burial ground
When it comes to the time
Are we partners in crime?
When it comes to the time
We'll be ready to die
God, let us go now
And finish what's to be done
Thy kingdom come
Thy shall be done on Earth
Trying to justify to ourselves
The reasons to go
Should we live and let live
Forget or forgive
But how can we let them
Go on this way?
The reign of terror, corruption must end
And we know deep down
There's no other way
No trust, no reasoning
No more to say

Biblical questions

If god is so powerful, why can he not write the bible himself? Instead, he risks typos and errors and miscommunications between the people who first wrote the bible ... Ooops! FYI: The bible was not written. YES. It was ASSEMBLED from many different writings from all sorts of gospels to stories of this and that .... all that conformed to one purpose. What was the purpose? Not to give the christians a documentation of their faith. No. The real purpose? So Emperor Constantine can have one religion to unite his empire.

The first christian Bible was assembled at constantinople. By the way, the emperor himself was a pagan who had himself baptized to christianity at the hour of his death. (wise ass) As I watched the discovery channel documentary, `Books banned from the Bible' ---- I began to see why the church leaders chose to expel some of those books out of the Bible. Some were rather full of rage or hate. Others, the book of jubillee says adam and eve had 9 children. Cain killed abel, and then married his sister. It was difficult for the church to accept that the human race was made out of incest.

And the best for last, the gospel of peter. Oh good lord, peter himself was expelled from the bible! The peter, the rock! Expelled? Here was his gospel. He asked the lord why ....if he is such an all-loving God, he allows souls to be tormented in hell (down there). The lord answered him: Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone. Those people in hell are all going to be saved in the end. For now, I just let them suffer, but in the end they too will be forgiven.

Now I know why that gospel of peter never made it to the bible. heheheh of course. if i was the church, that is a perfectly logical thing to do. hehe but if what peter said was true --- and the church included that story in the bible? I WOULD HAVE BEEN A BELIEVER. If the church never threw any of the stories out, everything, every detail would have answered itself, and I wouldnt have to ask any of those questions myself. Something tells me the church has a bigger `agenda' than just saving souls. If that is the case, I wouldn't trust them, or any of their writings. or any of their beliefs, or any of their teachings.

I have teachings of my own, thank you. Something more practical. Something more useful. Something that actually makes people do good, rather than waste time praying. If you run a test, your faith will fail you. You think the lord will save you? Jump off from the top of the building. then pray. see what happens.
